Eva Kelly, an Irish glass artist, trained in Australia in the 1980s under the expert eyes of master glass painter Paddy Robinson and glass-fusing expert Warren Langley. Returning to Ireland in 1986 Eva established her studio in Co. Kildare located close to the bog of Allen – an area of natural bogland famous for its richly diverse landscape that provides much of the inspiration and content for her work.

Eva specialises in commissioned glass, mainly utilising stained glass and often employing techniques such as hand painting, sandblasting and acid etching to achieve a depth of colour and texture for specific commissions. Recently she extended her interest to working in kiln-formed glass, using complex fusing and slumping techniques to produce multi-layered glass platters, bowls and wall pieces. Lost wax casting forms an integral part of Eva Kelly’s more recent work.
